Really? I did some examination of the 2006 and 2007 results before supporting the theory of urban>rural and membership>community and one example of a rural membership group winning in 2008 doesn't completely disprove that. My analysis was incomplete because I couldn't get information on all the groups.
Looking at the two regions I know best, I suggest the most likely 2009 winners by that theory are: West: Community Climbing, Snuff Mills restoration project, Routes to Renewal; Anglia: Mow & Grow (but that seems close), Church to Community Coffee Shop, Young Concern Trust (also close), Talking With Hands (also close). Actually, all the Anglia competitions seem much more evenly matched than the West ones.
