Arrow Facebook fan-page top tips for non-profits

Dean Rieck's blog has a simple to follow post on setting up a Facebook fan-page which non-profits should pay attention to.

In particular he highlights the importance of a landing page, something which Quarriers do well.

Any TSFers set up a Facebook fan-page or group they'd like to share?

PS...You'll find the TSF Facebook fan-page here but it's been neglected for a little while. I'll give it more love and attention in 2010, promise!

Hiya

Interesting article - will have to have a good read through it and do some work... In the meantime, Yorkhill Children's Foundation has a Facebook page which has been growing fairly organically since May last year. It works really well for promoting our events and campaigns and our fans have started posting their own stories and updates on it now...

Can you share a link to the Yorkhill page? I'd love to see it.

I know you from Twitter but it would be great if you could introduce yourself over on the introductions forum too.

The facebook page for Quarriers looks awesome! A lot better than many FB fan pages I've seen.

The landing page for Quarriers is created using Sprout, well worth a look. Marc Bowker from Quarriers is a member on TSF.

Ahh, excellent! I may be in need of his services soon if I can convince my boss to organise some professional looking pages for our stuff!

Sprout seems to be gone now

Edit: actually, the free service seems to have gone.

You can make a simpler landing tab which look just as good by using HTML. You can incorporate pictures, video's, presentation slides etc on the tab too.
