Have a Heart, the charity of the radio station Heart, has launched a tender process to find a national charity partner who will benefit from its fundraising activities. National charities that provide services to children and deliver on a local level are invited to apply for the ongoing partnership, which will start in Autumn 2010 and could be worth up to £1million over 2 years.
Heart, part of Global Radio, launched Have a Heart in July 2009 to support projects that help disadvantaged children, specifically those who are vulnerable, face adversity, suffer from illness or are deprived of the childhood that every child deserves.
The new partnership will make a lasting difference at a local level and improve on Have a Heart’s success in 2010. Applicants should be nationally recognisable, registered charities who deliver on a level that aligns with Heart’s regional network of radio stations. The successful partner will benefit from a series of events and fundraising as well as airtime on the Heart network. Planned events for 2010-11 include the Have a Heart Appeal (Spring 2011), an overseas trek to Peru (Spring 2011), the Brighton Marathon (April 2011), the Great North Run and a London-based special event.
