Question Cheap meeting venue needed

Hi

I'm looking for cheap meeting room facilities for the 2010 AGM of a small support group . Can anyone suggest somewhere?

I am part of Aniridia Network UK. It supports people with the visual impairment "Aniridia" and their families. It's not a charity and has very little funds. Previously we have met at the Volunteer Resource Centre in Holloway Road. But it is not satisfactory.

We need one, possibly two rooms for about 25 adults babies and children , We need space for young children to be entertained away from the main discussion area. We also need adequate facilities for baby changing and the ability to have eat food on site. It must be accessible for blind and visually impaired people. Minimal need for complex travel arrangements between major train stations and the venue is also important. Central London is preferred but anywhere central in the UK is possible. The date would be whole day on either a Saturday or Sunday probably in March or April 2010.

I can think of/find various possibilities, including NCVO, DSC, DLF, universities/student unions, CVSs etc. But I hoped someone might have more specific recommendations.

If any one has any ideas please let me know either below or in a private message.

Many thanks
James

Hi James

I am a member of my Estate's resident association. Our community centre is based on the edge of the city in Shoreditch.Nearest stations are Liverpool Street and Old Street. We book out rooms to charity/voluntary organisations and have catered for all day events for up to 100 people including catering. We have good sized rooms on the ground floor and a community kitchen. So you could bring your own food or we can cater for a reasonable price. If you are interested in further details please email simonebowen@btinternet.com

I don't know the simone's venue, but I have had good experiences hiring other edge-of-London residents association halls in the past (and one bad one). I don't have current contact details with me.

I've also used and like Living Space in Waterloo.

Thank you very much for the replies - very useful. I'm also looking at the Somers Town Community Association. I'm still keen to hear of any other suggestions though.
