You can make another non-profit's page one of TSF's favourite's but if you become a fan or a friend I think you show up under your own name rather than as TSF. I'd like to keep my business page and my own personal profile completely separate but I don't think you can. I keep getting friend requests from people I don't really know who I'd rather were just able to see the business side rather than my personal stuff.

Re: Facebook
I have an Innocent Oils page on Facebook. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Innoce...54670371?ref=s I'll pop over and find you and become a fan of TSF right away.

Yes, my "you may be deleted" banner has gone after a few days.
I would strongly suggest not uploading any material solely to facebook because it's handing access control to an unreasonable foreign private-sector corporation who will only support the third sector while it's in their private economic interest to do so.

Re: Facebook
Lets see how we get on with Facebook and if we're asked to leave thn take it from there. There's plenty of third sector organisations using it to raise awareness. It could prove to be an excellent recruitment tool for the forums.

Re: Facebook
Isn't that a bit of an ostrich approach? I'd use it, but be aware that the private sector are competitors sometimes and guard against the day when they start kick/banning you or your members. Back up everything you can (and be surprised that facebook lets you back up so little).

Re: Facebook
Just a reminder folks - the TSF page on facebook ( http://www.new.facebook.com/home.php...4337720?ref=ts) is still quite lonely - only 11 fans - so if you do use FB, please add us and share the link around!

Re: Facebook
That link seems to go to the facebook homepage. The correct link is http://www.facebook.com/pages/Third-...ms/53154337720
Why is it listed under "Non-Profits" - wouldn't "Organisations" or "Websites" would have been more appropriate? I know us social enterprises aren't plentiful here yet, but leave the door open, please!

Thanks! Not sure which link I was trying to paste there - note to self - do not post when falling asleep!
Not sure why it was created where it is - but I didn't actually create it!

Re: Facebook
added myself to the TSF page.
i started one for Weldmar in October, and begged all my friends to add themselves as fans - added a piece to the internal newsletter at the Trust - and just started adding things to it (the brilliant film they had made first) - now have 108 fans.
not too shabby for a small amount of effort.
once we have the new website, i'll start promoting it even more.
i like the ability for 'fans' to post things to it the most - and the more i can encourage this the better.
but - i'm not sure how successful it'll be as we are such a 'local' charity, in a county with a very different demographic to that of the Book!
