Do people have any say about having a company page on facebook vs. linkedin.
Is more effective than the other?

It depends what you're trying to do. In my experience, LinkedIn is better for finding trading opportunities, while Facebook is better for building community. But always remember that both of those companies may remove or edit your input at any time, so concentrate on getting things to move outside of their websites and into spaces that are more sustainable.

I've just posted ten must-read Facebook resources for non-profits to my blog: http://www.rossmcculloch.com/10-must...-for-non-profi

Be interested to hear everyone's thoughts on the list. Anything I've missed?

I feel it really needs one of the cautionary tales where someone have been arbitrarily booted off of facebook, to remind the sector that not all your members or supporters will/can/should be on there. http://www.observer.com/2008/faceboo...-ever?page=all perhaps. It has a happy(?) ending, but it's really all arbitrary.

I've been pushing the TSF Facebook page a bit more and hopefully we can start engaging with people on there too. You'll find it at:

Hi everyone! Ross, I just came across your Feb 2010 post, "10 must-read Facebook resources for non-profits," and I noticed one of the resources is "Top ten Facebook charity applications." I hope it's alright for us to get a digg in here while we're on the subject :P...

We created a Facebook application CMS module for our clients that comes standard with all Effect Engine CMS-powered websites. It's called SIDMA (Social Information Dissemination Management Application) for now, but we are thinking about instead calling it 'Facebook Wildfire' since that is pretty much what the application is in a nutshell. It's pretty powerful stuff!

I hope you all will check it out in brief at http://cozality.com/facebook_for_nonprofits.html.

All the best!
Charles
