Default what the true value of volunteers?

if you have volunteers do you really know what they're worth to your organisation? http://bit.ly/9guItV (opens as pdf)

Hi Adrian

We've just included the value of volunteering in our Nottingham economic impact research.

We looked at the model you posted as one of the contenders. We ended up using more of a Canadian model which is much more comprehensive- it splits it into 6 main roles and uses a salary comparison.

It sounds a bit complicated but actually it isn't. We developed a simple spreadsheet and explanation as part of our new Proving Your Worth online training package.

I've attached- or at least I hope I have- a page for our end notes describing the process. I'd love to show you more but the report has been embargoed for a couple of weeks.

(If you want a copy of the report pop across to our website and sign up & we'll make sure you'll get it as soon as we are allowed to send it!!)

Valuing volunteers is one of the great ways an organisation can evidence its economic impact.

Great idea for a thread, Adrian

Cheers

Graham

Sorry... tried to upload a single page of word as a PDF & it said it was too large!!

I've repeated my post above as a blog on our site & attached the paper!

you can find it here:

Cheers

Graham

ps.... we did the website ourselves over the last few days. We would welcome any feedback. Be nice to us though- even if you don't like it- constructive criticism good, rudeness bad!! Graham

Where do you want the feedback? Website is OK. Seems to be fixed-width, which I always find irritating, but that was the only major booboo. If you're looking for other possible improvements: I'd put the site name in the <title>...</title> tags (but opinions differ on that) and try to fix some of the errors shown on http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=ht...ng-volunteers/ before they cause problems, particularly the failure to write & as &amp; in links like the delicious one.
